(THIS IS THE FIRST EMAIL SENT OUT TO OUR EMAIL-LIST)
This morning I was drafting out a "marketing plan" for Shan Ren Farms, and you may be thinking - - B O R I N G - - as I would,
it ended up becoming a grand art project,
and a big mess in my room.
My "marketing plan" also became a research on the different non-profits around the coffee world and what they do, plus many. little. drawings.
THIS IS THE QUESTION THAT CAME TO MY MIND:
I imagine you have a job, and if you don't, you probably have had one and will have one in the close future.
I wish for you to find ways to help others with your job; and I hope you can love what you do.
We can easily put goodness in the smallest things,
how we speak and look at others in the office, or by making a cup of tea for the stressed out colleague, by smiling to someone that feels lonely and is maybe a little grumpy because of it, by helping out the new waiter with something heavy, or by being kind and loving to the person you serve coffee to, and so on...
And all this not because of something we want from them, but just because we are all together here, and we all have struggle in our lives. (And we all know how it feels)
So here, I scribbled a little gift for you that you can print out if you wish and put somewhere you can see during your day:

Shan Ren Farms is still at it's humble beginnings.
As you probably already know, the farm is situated as part of a monastery, where monks, nuns, volunteers, and some local help work the land, make the products, and bring them to market.
My service here goes mainly into designing and marketing them. Which includes the online presence, giving me also the opportunity to meet you :) .
Here at the monastery we are a US registered 501(c)3 non-profit. For those of you who hear an alien language, 501(c)3 is one of the most controlled and difficult non-profit status' to get.
We got it because we are totally transparent and honest about what we do.
And before being able to put into action the many projects we have in mind to help the surrounding community, we must first have Shan Ren Farms well-established and well-run.
In the meanwhile we are giving a stable, well paid job to many friends in this small village; jobs can be hard to find around here, not to mention ones with good working conditions.
LOS GUYS THAT WORK HERE helping in construction and harvest work:
I will leave you to your day now, or to your night,
Take good care of yourself,
'til next's time!
P.S. No, ehm... the Marketing Plan is not finished yet...
